The Spanish flag has three horizontal stripes, one is yellow, and is in between two smaller red stripes. Left of the center is the Spanish coat of arms. The flag represents the colors of the original Spanish kingdoms.
Slovenia The Slovenian flag is white, blue, and red, those three colors are horizontally striped. The Coat of arms is in the upper left portion of the flag. The mountains on the coat of arms symbolize the Alps, and the stars represent the Duchy of Celje.
Croatia The Croatian flag has three horizontal stripes of red, white, and blue. In the middle of the flag, is the Croatian coat of arms. The small shields on the coat of arms symbolize historical regions in Croatia.
Greece The Greek flag is blue and white, with nine horizontal stripes, and a white cross in a blue background in the upper left corner. The nine horizontal stripes represent the nine muses which are the Greek goddesses of civilization and art.
The former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia The Macedonian flag is red with a yellow circle in its center, which represents the "new sun of liberty". The flag also has eight beams of yellow going from the center out to the four midsegments, and the four corners.
Montenegro The flag of Montenegro has a gold outline, and a red filling. The Montenegrin coat of arms lies in the middle of the flag. The two-headed bird represents the unity of church and state.
Portugal The Portuguese flag is green and red. The coat of arms of Portugal is located where the colors meet on the flag. The smaller blue shields represent 5 kings who were defeated in Portugal, and the white shield in the middle represents the armor of Don Afonso Henriques.
Albania The red portion of the flag represents strength, bravery, and valor, and the black double-headed eagle represents the sovereign state of Albania.
Malta The flag of Malta has two vertical stripes of white and red, each taking up half of the flag. The flag has a depiction of the George cross in the top left corner, which represents bravery. The red symbolizes sacrifice, and the white symbolizes peace.
Bosnia and Herzegovina The flag of Bosnia and Herzegovina has yellow, blue, and seven full five pointed white stars. The flag was designed by Carlos Westendorp in 1998. The yellow shape represents the shape of the country, and the colors represent neutrality and peace.
Serbia The Serbian flag has three vertical stripes of red, blue, and white. The national coat of arms is located a bit left of the center. The colors represent revolutionary ideals of the country.
Andorra The Andorran flag has three vertically striped colors, which are blue, yellow, and red, with a crest in the middle. The motto in the coat of arms in the middle stripe Virtus Unita Fortior means "Virtue United is Stronger".
San Marino
The flag of San Marino has two vertical stripes of white and light blue. The country’s coat of arms is in the middle. The white and blue symbolize peace and liberty.
Italy The Italian flag has three vertical stripes of green, white, and red. This became Italy’s official flag in January of 1948. The colors represent hope, faith, and charity.
