The highest percentage on the chart was 12.60%, belonging to Serbs. The lowest percentage on the chart was 0.50, belonging to Sammarinese. There are other ethnic groups in the region, such as French, and Romani, but their percentages arent high enough to be on the chart.
The largest ethnic groups in Southern Europe are Albanian, Italian, Serb, and Portuguese. The highest concentration of Albanians is in Albania, followed by in Serbis and Montenegro, and then in Macedonia. Italians are really only in Italy, and Serbs are in Serbia, Croatia, and Montenegro. The ethnic groups that are highly distributed throughot the region are Catalan, Serb, Croat, and Albanian, and some ethnic groups that are not very distributed at all are Muslim, Galician, Slovene, Sammarinese, Maltese, and Andorran. The smallest ethnic groups are Galician, Muslim, Andorran, and Montenegrin. There is ethnic tension between the Serbs and the Croats, Macedonians and Albanians, and Italians and Muslims. Italians are very religious, since Italy is the home of the pope, and the origin of Roman Catholocism. The Roman Catholic and the Muslim fought in ancient wars centuries ago, so there is still some hatred between them. Serbia and Croatia both participated in the somewhat recent Yugoslav wars, which is the main cause of tension between them. Macedonians and Albanians dislike each other due to Battle of Tetovo, and the Insurgency in 2001.
